Okay, it doesn't have to be a spy camera.
It must be something wireless that send signals to my Android smart phone. And some of those spy cameras seem to have fairly good features but they are also scary. Their descriptions are obviously translated from some other language and I would worry about decent customer support.
I'd simply like to be notified the moment a certain cabinet door (actually, two doors) is opened. But it's a door that may not be opened for weeks at a time. That's kind of important as the device's battery may need replacing or recharging too often. I, therefore, need notification when battery is low. By the way, space is limited in this cabinet with less than 2 inches from the inside of the door to the back of the cabinet.
It could be a proximity sensor that triggers a built-in camera. But it needs to turn off when there is no longer motion.
I suppose it could be one of those window/magnet sensors. Separate the magnet and a signal is sent. However, the ones I've looked at are too large for my 2 inch confines.
For what it's worth, I just returned a package that I truly hoped would work but it turns out that my firewalls (both router and Windows 10) seemed to be one problem. Plus my wireless router may have been a bottleneck. I thought it was too risky to invest on a different router.
That package of hardware was by CAO Gadgets LLC, a Tag Manager, plus 2 tags (the sensors) both with 3d position sensitivity. The sensors, each with a purportedly long life disk battery, sends wireless signals upon a change of x,y,z position to the Tag Manager, which is connected to the router. That, in turn, relays the signal to an internet connected phone or tablet.
Tips?
